This trek is ideal for active trekkers who can hike 6 to 7 hours a day carrying a light daypack. On certain days, the trekking is longer and the altitude increases the difficulty level of trekking. The trails are generally good, but there could be boulder and uneven patches in between.

Annapurna Three High Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

After you stay here; you will be heading from Kathmandu city to Pokhara. it is the tourist capital of Nepal, popular with trekkers as a gateway to trials in the Annapurna.

Early in the morning, we take a well- facilitated Tourist bus and starting our journey. You will travel along Trisuli River whereas on the other side you see hills. Traditional houses made up on hill of mud and stone. It feels like you are seeing the beautiful paintings.

Roads are under construction.Malekhu is famous for the local fish. You can taste local fish. After one hour; you will cross the Bridge of Trisuli River. Muglin, you may have lunch here. You will continue your journey ascending upwards following Prithivii Highway. As you start seeing the distant views of Mt Machhapuchhre, it is an indication that you are close to Pokhara.

After a few hours, you will reach your destination. You will rest Pokhara.The highlight of the town is its Lakeside, which is a boating paradise flanked with charming shops, dreamy cafes, restaurants and pubs that makeup this postcard-perfect town.

Nightlife is especially of Pokhara. You will enjoy and stay here tonight.

Day 02: Drive to Sikles (2000m) drive 4 hrs then trek to TasaKharka(2400m) 4 hrs walk

After having a delicious breakfast, you will head towards Sikles. It can be a local bus or jeep.

Sikles is a beautiful indigenous Gurung Village. This Village is in the shadow of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.

In the journey of Annapurna 3 pass trek, today is your first trek. You will reach TasaKharka and stay there.

The mesmerizing view of Madikhola is all over your eyes. You will pass through the beautiful Rhododendron Forest. It will take you 4-5 hours to reach TasaKharka from Sikles. A walk is refreshing with birds chirping and also wild flowers along the route.

Your stay will be at a mountain range. From there you will see the majestic Annapurna region.

Day 03: Trek to Dharmsala(3540m) 6-7 hrs walk

After having breakfast, you will start your trek to Dharmsala. It is a beautiful journey altogether.

You will gain height. Walk through beautiful Rhododendron forest scenery. This is a beautiful place.

Day 04: Trek to BoksiTaal(4100m) 6-7 hrs walk

BoksiTaal adds beauty to this trek. BokshiTaal is also known as ThuloTaal,is beautiful fresh water Lake. After having breakfast, you will start your trek.

This trek passes by rhododendron forest and is not so lengthy. Following the green trials, you will reach BoksiTaal.

Day 05: Trek to Thorju (4200m) 6-7 hrs walk

After having a proper breakfast, you will start your trek to Thorju. It is a beautiful place having few houses.

The view of majestic Manaslu is astounding. You can share your tiredness with Manaslu. Manaslu will share its happiness with you. It would be a companion for today.

Day 06: Rest and Acclimatization day

Today is the second day of acclimatization. You need to adjust your body with a changing environment because at the height of 4200m.

You can enjoy local taste and cultures. The sky is clear. Stars are all over you. This beautiful scenery is unexplainable. You want to touch the stars. It feels to close to you.

Day 07: Trek to Namun La Phedi(4542m) 6-7 hrs walk

After having breakfast, you walk towards Namun La Phedi. It is a downhill journey for sometimes.

It is the base of the Namun La Pass. Your tired legs will get some rest through this journey. Your body feels light. It is an easy trek to Namun La Phedi.

Day 08: Trek to Timang via Namun La pass (2600m) 7-8 hrs walk

Today you will reach the first pass of your Annapurna 3 pass trek. Trek to Timang via Namun La Pass is the journey for today.

To reach Namun La pass, you have to cross the river. As soon as you cross the river, you will ascend your journey. It will take you more than four hours to reach the top. The walk to the top is difficult but the view is worth the walk. You will see majestic Manaslu, Huinchuli, peak, and many more.

The landscape is extraordinary. From Namun La Pass, you will continue the downward journey.

Day 09: Trek to Koto (2610m) 4-5hrs walk

Trek to Koto is an interesting journey. After having a breakfast in Timang valley, you will head towards Koto.

The gateway to the remote Nar Phu Village. Marshyangdi River follows you as more move towards Koto. Looking Marshyangdi River flowing at its best speed, you also increase your speed. Koto is a small village mostly inhabited by the ethnicGurung community.

Day 10: Trek to Meta (3230m) 6-7 hrs walk

Meta is your destination for today. Your breakfast at Koto should be able to hold you through this journey.

You will commence the trek by crossing a river to enter the NarPhu Valley. You will continue to hike through the beautiful Juniper forests above PhuKhola and you rest there. it is an upward journey. From the step hills, view snowy peaks will be even more clear. You will pass through small caves. Before Dharamsala, you will pass through a wide waterfall.

The Himalayas become wider whereas forests become thinner. It may take you 5-6 hours to reach Meta from Koto. Meta Village is smaller than Koto village sitting on a wide plain with only a handful with guesthouses.

Day 11: Trek to Phu Village (4000m) 6-7 hrs walk

You will follow the river side to continue this journey. The route is full of cliffs, desert areas, forest areas, and many more.

Phu is a small and traditional village inhabited bt Tibetan Buddhist. Chyakhu and Kyang are among them. To reach Phu from Kyang it will take you 4 hours. People from Phu village migrate to Kyang in the winter season. The village is old. It is also traditional in its lifestyles. You will stay here tonight.

Day 12: Explore around Phu Village 2-3 hrs hike

It is a small and traditional village. It does not take you a long time to explore this village. Here are a few historical monasteries.

You can visit these places. You can have a conversation with local villagers. Understand their lifestyles.

Yak and Sheep are everywhere. Without them, the living condition here can be worst. The sound of bells on the neck of yak and sheep feels organic music.

Day 13: Trek to Nar Village (4110m) 6-7 hrs walk

Yet another exciting and unique village awaits you today. Nar village lies in the Manang District. The trails follows steep hills, rough roads, bank of the river, and may more. It is a beautiful small village.

The view of mountain is perfect from the route. Nar is significantly bigger village than Phu. Beautiful landscapes and forests cover this area. Women of the village are seen weaving their wool fabric for making rugs and blankets. Old traditional stone houses are here in most numbers. The architecture of the houses is almost the same. It is a more social and active village than Phu.

Day 14: Trek to Nagwal via Kang la pass (3360m) 7-8 hrs walk

Now again you will gain height. Kangla pass is another pass in Annapurna 3 high pass trek. This hike is not difficult. You will take an uphill climb in the steep trail while enjoying the majestic mountain views.

It may be difficult if there is snow in the way. Kangla Pass 5320m is a beautiful pass. From here you can see Annapurna II, Tilicho peak, Gangapurna, and many more. You can also see the airport n Hongde. You will move downwards from here.

Nagwal is an upper route of the Annapurna circuit. Trek is easy and view as outstanding. Chortens and prayers flags are all over here. You feel spiritual in this place.

Day 15: Trek to Manang (3500m) 3-4 hrs walk

Today you will walk alongside Marshyangdi River. By following this route you will reach to Manang.

On the way, you will cross different pine forests, Braga village and see the farming terraces. You will enjoy the view of the Annapurna mountain range. You will also side trip to Gangapurna glacier, see various small monasteries and also visit BrakaGompa. The monastery is believed to be 900 years old. Can you believe? Yes, 900 years old.

Day 16: Rest day at Manang / Hike to 100 Lama Cave

When you come above 3500m from the sea level; it is vital take as an acclimatization day so we spend a day acclimatizing in Manang.

The whole day we spend by doing some fine day walks and over viewing the magnificent views around the village and the day time is best to gain altitude.

At the end of the day, we come back to our accommodation and have a night rest.

Day 17: Trek to Khangsar (3756m) 4-5hrs walk

A gradually walk to Khangsar from Manang. Walk on the trial in the vicinity of pine trees, crossing the Khangsar River. A great glimpse of Tilicho Peak on the way.

Enter the last settlement village Khangsar in Manang. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 18: Trek to Tilicho base camp (4200m) 6-7hrs walk

Today is your day to be at Tilicho Base Camp. It is a lake that lies in one of the world’s highest altitude.

There are a few tea houses and hotels. You will not get any of these in Tilicho Lake. This is the place where you rest, have a drink and food. Prayers flags are all over there. Everyone seems excited to reach Tilicho Lake.

Day 19: Early in the morning hike toTilicho lake and back to Siri Kharka (4060m) 4-5hrs walk

Today, you will hike up to Tilicho Lake. Trekking along the side of a huge mountain on a steep path, you will reach a watershed. On the way, you will get to see yaks and deer grazing in a few different spots.

You will soon come across beautiful Tilicho lake nestled at the foot of the north face of Tilicho Lake. Spending some time at the lake and we will follow the trail, which takes us through the coniferous forest, on its southern side.

On the way, we will pass a monastery and also the amazing view of GungangHimal and Mt. Chulu, will keep us motivated. Stay overnight at Siri Kharka.

Day 20: Trek to Yak kharka/ Chuli ladder(4000m) 5-6hrs walk

Leaving Siri Kharka behind, you will descend down to Yak Kharka. The trail will be short and easy today. Passing by Tare Gumpa a thousand years old monastery, you will reach khangsar village.

Further, trekking along a rock wall out of khangsar, you will come across the seasonal bridge in the ThorangKhola valley. Crossing the bridge over a river, you will ascend to a plateau and walk furthermore to reach Yak Kharka for the night stay.

Day 21: Trek to High camp (4900m) 5-6hrs walk

Enjoy walking steadily and pass Ledar. The altitude is very challenging thus ascending gradually and descending through a narrow trail to arrive at ThorongPhedi. Maintain peace of waling and continue till high Camp.

Day 22: Trek to Muktinath(3800m) via Thorong La Pass(5416m) 10-11hrs walk

A new day begin with as reaching Muktinath via Thorong La Pass is a thrilling experience. Get amazed with great views of snow capped Annapurna and surrounding mountains, prayer flags, and chortens from the top.

Climb downhill slowly and keep walking on the trail to reach Muktinath. Muktinath is a holy temple for both Hindus and Buddhists. The Vishnu Temple, 108 stone spouts, and burning flames are the major highlight of this temple. Visit the temple if time allows or continue the next day.

Spend time relaxing at a guest house. Stay overnight.

Day 23: Trek to Jomsom (2700m) 6-7 hrs walk

You will trek to Jomsom today. You will trek downwards. Jomsom is a beautiful town.

It is not to hard trek to follow. The views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, and many more. It is a town in the Mustang district. It is famous for organic apples and Marpha.

Day 24: Flight to Pokhara (820m)

Pokhara is your destination today. Drive to Jomsom to Pokhara is an exciting journey.

Along the side of the Kaligandaki River, roads are small. Majestic Kaligandaki seems to follow you. You will see Hindu and Buddhist culture throughout this journey. You will see Beni Bazaar. You may have your lunch here. It is the big town on the bank of Kaligandaki River. You will enjoy the nightlife again. This evening you will enjoy it here.

Day 25: Drive to Kathmandu (1320m) 6-7 hrs drive

Annapurna 3 pass trek ends here. After having breakfast, you will ride to Kathmandu. The journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu is beautiful.

You will see beautiful settlements. You will cross Damauli, Muglin, and many other places to reach Kathmandu. Throughout this journey, you will see beautiful mountains, rice fields, vegetable fields etc. Thankot the gateway to Kathmandu. In a few minutes, you will be in Kathmandu.
