Overview

Annapurna Skyline trek (Royal trek)

Annapurna skyline trek is a popular trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is also known as Annapurna Panorama trek or the Royal trek as prince Charles of Britain walked through this route in 1980. It offers incredible views of some of the world’s highest peaks including Annapurna, Machapuchare 6993 m (fish tail), and Dhaulagiri 8167 m as well as the opportunity to experience the local culture and villages.

The trek takes you through lush rhododendron forests, stunning landscapes and terraced fields. You can also enjoy a vibrant display of blooming rhododendron flowers depending on the season. The trek is not as tough altitude wise, as this unforgettable short Annapurna sunrise trek takes you at less than 3000 m high within a short period of time at the scenic viewpoint at Poon Hill above 3210 m. At Poon hill trekkers can enjoy eye- catching sunrise views over wide range of Himalayan mountains from Annapurna rang with towering peaks of Machhapuchare- the renowned fishtail includes Lamjung and Manaslu Himalayan towards Mideast direction.

Short Annapurna skyline trek begins with scenic drive beyond stunning Pokhara city and its beautiful valley heading at the foot hills passing through the old Trans- Himalayan salt trade of Nepal Tibet that extends further Ghorepani towards upper mustang.

After a glorious time and feeling in good spirits with the alluring views, exploring impressive culture of the villagers then we will end our fabulous short Annapurna skyline trek, walk at Kande after walking past nice and magnificent spot.

1) Accommodation and foods

Teahouse is the combination of guest house, restaurant, and social hang out where the rooms are spare with twin beds and very little additional furniture. The lodges are fairly basic and provide a variety of food options ranging from local Nepali dishes to International cuisines. At some of the teahouses private rooms are available expect for high altitudes.

2) Altitude Sickness

Generally altitude sickness occurs when you travel to a high altitude too quickly. Headache, nausea, tiredness etc are the symptoms occur when your body tries to adjust to the lower air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes. When it comes to this illness, one should be pro-active and notify the guide as soon as possible.

3) Best time to trek

The best time to undertake the Annapurna skyline trek is during the spring (March- May) and autum (September- November) seasons. The temperatures are mild, the weather is relatively unchanged and the clear skies provide astonishing mountain views.
