Best Times for Annapurna Sanctuary Trek
It would be the spring, namely March to May, and autumn, namely September to November. This is ideal for good weather, favorable mountain views, and comfortable trekking conditions.
Spring (March to May) – Best Time to See Blooming Landscapes: Spring, with its agreeable weather patterns, is noted as one of the finest times to do the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Weather: Mild and stable, daytime temperatures (10°C to 20°C/50°F to 68°F) at lower elevations, whereas at Annapurna Base Camp, temperatures range from -5°C to -10°C (23°F to 14°F). Full bloom of rhododendron, lush forests, and varieties of Himalayan flora decorate the trails. The clear morning views of the entire Annapurna, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli are possible; this season builds up occasional pre-monsoon clouds in the afternoon.
Autumn: September to November – Best Time for Clear Skies and Stunning Views Autumn is considered peak season due to stable weather, dry trails, and crystal-clear skies. The monsoon rains from June to August clear dust and pollution, providing excellent visibility of the snow-capped peaks. Daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 64°F), while nights at higher altitudes can drop to -5°C (23°F) or lower. The conditions are great for trekking: comfortable temperatures, and very minimal risk of heavy rainfall or snow. This is the peak of the trekking season; therefore, lodges and teahouses are busier than normal.
Though serene and less crowded, extreme cold and heavy snowfall in winter-from December to February-make the trek challenging. Similarly, the monsoon period, starting from June to August, has heavy rains, landslides, and slippery trails that make trekking difficult and reduce visibility.
