Best Season to do Annapurna base camp short trekking

Please be informed that Annapurna base camp short trekking will be in the spring season of march to may when days are longer with much sunlight hours from early 6am to till ate 6pm which helps to cover much more distance each day to designated overnight stops. Altitude Sickness

Normally altitude sickness occurs when you travel to a high altitude too quickly. Headache, nausea, tiredness etc are the symptoms occur when your body tries to adjust to the lower air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes. Here are some things you can do to prevent yourself from getting altitude sickness.

  • Stop and rest where you are
  • Do not go any higher for at least 24 to 48 hours

Required Experience:

This trek is ideal for active trekkers who can hike 6 to 7 hours a day carrying a light day-pack. On certain days, the trekking is longer and the altitude increases the difficulty level of trekking. The trails are generally good, but there could be boulder and uneven patches in between.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu (Tribhuwan International Airport) Arrival

Our personnel will be waiting for you at the airport with your name on a placard. He will pick you up from airport and transfer you to the hotel as per your preference. This day will be for your refreshment and in the evening you will be provided a guided evening walk to the local markets as well as localities to make you familiar with the Nepalese atmosphere.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

We will be providing you a half day guided sightseeing tour to different UNESCO listed world heritage sites in Nepal with one of our best tour guides and the destinations includes Boudhanath the largest of all Buddhist monument stupas in Nepal, Swayambhunath the monkey temple and also the oldest one of its kind, Pashupatinath the Hindu temple of lord Shiva. We will stay overnight at the same hotel in Kathmandu.The best seasons for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek are autumn (September 15 to December 15) and spring (March 15 to May 30). Both offer clear weather, comfortable temperatures, and stunning views, with autumn being popular for its crystal-clear skies and spring for vibrant rhododendron blooms.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara

We take a drive for 6 to 7 hours where you can enjoy the most of culturally beautiful Nepal. We will have our overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara and prepare for the trekking.

Day 04: Pokhara to Tikhe Dhunga via Nayapul

We will take a short one hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul to begin with our trek. Then we will start hiking to Tikhe Dhunga at 1525 meters of altitude through Birethanti which is a hefty settlement at the bank of Modi River. It will take approximately 4 and a half hour for us to reach Tikhe Dhunga from the main trail to Sudami. We will stay overnight at a guest house in Tikhe Dhunga.

Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

We will be walking through oak and rhododendron forest passing Bhurungdi Khola (River) which is a charming experience in itself to commence. We will have our lunch after a short climb to Nangethanti at 2460 meters. We will head to Ghorepani (2750 meters) after lunch for overnight stay at a standard tourist guest house and today’s hiking will be approximately of 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Day 06: Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani via Poon Hill

This day we should have to wake up early to reach Poon hill at (3210 meters) a view point providing the astonishing view of sunrise through the Himalayas. It will take approximately an hour to reach Poon Hill and we will be returning back to Ghorepani for our breakfast. We will again be starting our trek from Ghorepani passing through pine and rhododendron forest and climb to Deurali at an altitude of 2960 meters. We will then climb down to Banthanti and make our way to Tadapani (2540 meters) after a long walk of 6 hours. We will stay overnight at a guest house in Ghorepani.

Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong

We will start ascending through the western bank of Modi khola from Tadapani Gurjung where the route offers an excellent view of upper Modi valley. We will arrive at Chhomrong (2210 meters) village after a walk of 5 hours. Chhomrong village is situated at the foot of Himal Chuli (Mountain peak) a stunning souvenir of nature. Our overnight stay will be at a guest house in Chhomrong.

Day 08: Trek from Chhomrong to Dobhan

We will descend to Chhomrong Khola and then start to climb slowly to Kuldi Ghar (2470 meters) via Sinuwa. We will again trek downhill to Bamboo enjoying an unoccupied forest area, giant rocks, rhododendron forest to reach Dobhan at 2540 meter after a 6 hours walk. We will be staying overnight at a guest house in Dobhan.

Day 09: Trek from Dobhan to Deurali

We will continue our trek to Deurali (3170 meters) enjoying the great scenarios of mountains like Machhapuchhre (6997 meters), wildlife too are the main highlights of this day if you remain lucky enough. We will stay overnight at Deurali at a guest house.

Day 10: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)

Today; we will reach the main destination of our journey trekking via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. We will walk for 5 hours 30 minutes to reach the spectacular place offering spectacular views.

Day 11: Trek from ABC to Sinuwa

We will be returning back to Sinuwa and it takes approximately 5 hours and stay overnight there.

Day 12: Trek from Sinuwa to Ghandruk

Our destination for this day will be Ghandruk village which is a beautiful Gurung village and also offering the best of Mountain views. You will be enjoying amazing scenarios on the way to Ghandruk passing through Gurjung Khola, kimrong and Deurali. We will visit Gurung Museum as well as travel around the village too. Our overnight stay will be at Ghandruk.

Day 13: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

This day we will return back to Nayapul enjoying the marvelous scenarios on the way. We will then drive back to Pokhara for overnight stay.

Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara

We take around 6 hours drive to return back to Kathmandu where we will provide you a farewell dinner.

Day 15: Departure

We will send our professional staff or guide to lead you to airport for your departure to your homeland.
